Caterer Celebrates Five Years, Reflects on Growth in San Antonio
San Antonio, TX, March 30, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The month of April marks five years of success and more than 1500 events for An Event to Remember, formerly known as the Wedding Connection. Now with 15 employees, this full-service caterer has come a long way from the humble beginnings of their home-based event service company.
Owners Ruben and Kendra Rodriguez began the business in 2004 with the intent of providing disc jockey and floral services in San Antonio. Within those first few months, clients began requesting various other services, prompting the owners to respond quickly to these new growth opportunities.
Kendra recalls the decision to provide linens. “I went so far as to hand-sew table and chair linens for a wedding,” she says. “We now have a full-time seamstress on staff and a large collection of linens from which clients can select. We design, sew, clean and press all linen on site.”
Demand continued to grow, further persuading Ruben and Kendra to think beyond linens, floral décor and event staging. In April 2008, An Event to Remember debuted its catering menu at an invitation-only open house. Following this debut, An Event to Remember began to quickly establish themselves as a favorite among local events caterers. Celebrating a tradition of growth, the company experienced a 22 percent increase in gross sales, and 2009 is expected to boast an increase of sales by at least 50 percent.
“The difference between us and our competitors is we are consistently reinvesting in our company,” says Ruben. From their on-site kitchen, trucks, hot boxes, china, linens, iron presses, industrial-standard washing machines and plate covers, an Event to Remember is truly a one-stop, full-service catering company. “We’ve purposefully invested in these vital equipment and supplies to ensure we aren’t dependant upon others. For this reason, we are consistently able to provide the freshest cuisine and luxury décor at an affordable price to our clients.”
An Event to Remember has recently been increasing its foothold within the corporate event planning industry. Already established within the South Texas wedding industry, Ruben and Kendra expect a major portion of 2009’s projected $1 million gross sales to be that of their growing share of the corporate and non-wedding catering sector.
