Ronald McDonald House Charities Selects Gary Hubbell Consulting for Strategic Planning

Milwaukee, WI, July 20, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oregon and Southwest Washington has retained the services of Gary Hubbell Consulting to provide strategy development, planning, market research, and business plan development.

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Oregon and Southwest Washington is one of the larger in the RMHC family of over 250 Chapters operating in 28 countries. As its cornerstone program, RMHC provides temporary lodging, comfort and support for families of seriously ill and injured children who are being treated at nearby Portland medical facilities, and supports related efforts to improve children’s health.

Gary Hubbell Consulting will help guide and support RMHC leaders as they explore opportunities for adding and expanding programs. This is Gary Hubbell’s second significant engagement with RMHC. Tom Soma, the Executive Director, has said, "While there is never a shortage of need, resources will always be limited. As we began evaluating the wide range of potential programmatic responses to significant regional children’s health issues, we began feeling some organizational drift—so we turned to Gary Hubbell Consulting for help in refocusing. Gary brings a fresh perspective and a different set of questions to the challenge, and can deliver the integrated business services we need. What's best is that Gary Hubbell Consulting knows how to bring our stakeholders with us during times of transition. It boils down to trust...and Gary has always had mine. Through the years, he has earned both the trust and confidence of the Board as well."

As a strategic planning consultant with almost thirty years experience helping nonprofit organizations fulfill their missions, Hubbell is well positioned to help RMHC determine direction and find the resources to fuel their organizational growth. “In our information-laden world, research data, scenarios and case studies are at our fingertips. Yet, often the first step in the journey to become great is the decision to find a partner to ask the hard questions – 'What' and 'why' rather than 'who' and 'how,' ” says Hubbell.

In addition to Hubbell’s work serving as counsel and coach to organizations across the country, he is an active author and speaker. His independent research resulted in the publication of his first book, Forces of Change: The Coming Challenges in Hospital Philanthropy (Association of Healthcare Philanthropy, 2005).
