Gates Corporation Earns 2009 Plant Services Best Practices Award
The Award Recognizes the Power Transmission Division for Its Energy-Saving Solutions
Denver, CO, April 02, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Gates Corporation has garnered a prestigious 2009 Best Practices Award from Plant Services magazine for its energy-saving synchronous belt drive systems. The leading manufacturer of industrial products is recognized for its HVAC solutions for Reichhold Inc., a global supplier to the composites and coatings industries.
By converting various V-belt drives in its Durham, N.C. facility to Gates synchronous belt drives, Reichhold saves more than $34,000 per year in reduced energy costs. In addition, the synchronous belts will run for years without retensioning or replacement, saving additional downtime and maintenance costs.
Entries to the awards program described implementation of a maintenance or asset management practice, a service or a product in an industrial facility. They were judged on the basis of short- and long-term return on investment, innovation and breadth of applicability by a combination of Plant Services editors, readers and industry experts. Gates earned the award in the Energy category. Other categories included Equipment, Management, and Reliability.
