Amanda Phillips to Join the Volume Group Advisory Board
Wokingham, United Kingdom, April 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- After recently leaving the position of CEO for one of the UK’s most respected integrated agencies, Proximity London, Amanda is now in a position to lend her unique perspective to the collective energy being created by the new Volume Group Advisory Board.
The advisory board will help Volume gain momentum, credibility and weight, and is the next step behind its differentiated agency model that it has spent the last three years building.
Chris Sykes, CEO of Volume Group, comments on his view of the future with Amanda’s input:
“Volume is obviously something very special to me, but with the likes of Amanda Phillips making the commitment to advise and challenge us through a long-term phase of growth, I can see no limits to our success.”
Amanda joins a host of advisory board members already committed, including:
Steve Cleak, a key figure in media and sports sponsorship circles, as well as an instrumental figure in establishing Mindshare – WPP’s global media operation – across key global geographies; past board member of Ogilvy & Mather and a lecturer in economics.
Simon Delaney, award-winning comedy-drama writer and commercials director of “Cold Feet” and “Lead Balloon” fame.
Brian Emsell, a former Omnicom executive as well as the Associate Dean of Omnicom University.
And not forgetting the Chair, Colin Lloyd, long-term industry figure and agency stalwart.
Brian Emsell comments on Amanda’s complementary capabilities:
“Amanda is one of the industry’s true professionals. During her tenure at Proximity they experienced some incredible successes, and I know her approach will only add to the mix we’re enjoying in steering Volume towards what is an incredibly bright future.”
With Volume already enjoying success in the B2B market, its recent investment in new talent, infrastructure and digital-interaction R&D has led to a number of opportunities in B2C sectors.
So as Volume expands into new areas, Amanda will be able to lend much support, not only through her responsibilities as advisory board member, but also through focused one-to-one coaching for the Volume senior management team and rising stars. She will also be offering services to help Volume’s clients get the best from their agency relationships, including how to fully brief projects and draw out key messaging.
“The Volume team is so enthusiastic, it’s infectious. They’re constantly innovating and nothing ever seems too much or too far out of their reach. But we will be focusing on developing their leadership skills to deliver against the amazing challenges they set themselves and the mountains their clients ask them to climb.”
Amanda goes on to comment on why she’s looking forward to getting even closer to the Volume team:
“With so much bleak news in the industry, I only have to spend time with Volume to be reminded that some businesses are still flourishing, and Volume is one of them. They have kept at the forefront of technological innovation and they are now starting to reap their just rewards.”
Volume has most recently been successful in winning the development of CRM strategic support and infrastructure development, social media thought-leadership programmes and digital-interaction technology support for global product launches.
More on these new client wins will be available in the coming months.

She left Proximity in 2008 to pursue her passion to help other businesses build on their success, which she does through her non-executive directorships, consultancy and coaching.
Amanda is also actively involved with the marketing industry, having been a board member of the IPA, chairing its Direct Marketing Futures Group and Working Party on Sustainability, as well as being a regular judge on awards panels.
