Copenhagen, Denmark, April 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Tuko Pamoja.

Album from Mzungu Kichaa Release May 2009.

The long awaited debut album from Mzungu Kichaa is now a reality. Mzungu Kichaa has recorded a Swahili album "Tuko Pamoja" (We're Together) in true Bongo Flava style. Bongo Flava is a wide musical genre that represents youth music in East Africa. Tuko Pamoja has rich poetry and social-conscious messages representing ghetto youth, the struggle between rich and poor and the search for an identity for a white man singing black Swahili youth music. On his song "Jitolee" (meaning "volunteer") Kichaa features the number one Tanzanian rapper Professor Jay, and respected female singer Mwasiti. Mzungu Kichaa has worked with many established Bongo Flava artists in Tanzania including Juma Nature, TID, Mangwair, Ferooz and Fid Q. It was during recording sessions in Bongo Records with Juma Nature and Solo Thang, and late nights out in Temeke (a happening area in the poorer part of Dar es Salaam) that Mzungu Kichaa received his name, which means the Crazy White Man... Or at least people were convinced that he must be crazy. The album is receiving airplay in Mombasa, Nairobi, Arusha, Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam. Songs like "Wajanja" and "Jitolee" have also received airplay in Holland, Germany, Norway and Denmark. It has already been released in East Africa, and will be released in Europe in mid May 09.

Tuko Pamoja is a mixture of hiphop, reggae, dancehall, African guitar hooks and heartfelt vocals. The overall sound is urban, contains songs filled with melancholy and reflection and songs that will keep the dance floor pumping. Kichaa has performed extensively in Denmark with the Backing group ReCulture, who specialise in Roots Reggae. This backing group has some of the best reggae musicians on the Danish scene. He has also performed a number of concerts solo and with a DJ.

During his East African tour in February 2009, Kichaa received airplay throughout East Africa, and was featured on Kenyan Television Network KTN, East African Television Ch.5 as well as TV-Zanzibar. The Danish television station DR2 also covered the tour with live interviews during concerts in the capital Dar es Salaam. This will be broadcasted on Deadline in March 2009. The print media has covered the tour and release with articles in Mwanainchi, Arusha Times, The Citizen, The Standard, Aarhus Stiftidende, Skanderborg Ugeblad, Lokalavisen Skanderborg, Jyllands Posten, Horsens Folkeblad and others.

Shows are planned for summer and autumn of 2009 in Denmark, Germany, Holland, Norway and United Kingdom.
