Eurostars Hotels Invites You to Discover Barcelona with a Virtual Tourist Guide
Eight of the hotels belonging to the hotel chain Eurostars, in Barcelona, are offering “Walking Tours,” comprising latest generation MP3 devices from the Tourism Radio Company. This allows visitors to discover all that the city has to offer in a pleasantly entertaining manner.
Barcelona, Spain, April 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The “radio-guides” include over 100 places of interest in Barcelona, such as the Sagrada Familia church, the Boquería market or the Picasso Museum.
From April 2009, Eurostars Hotel establishments in Barcelona are going to offer clients a new and revolutionary service. It will enable tourists to enhance their stay and expand their knowledge of all that the city has to offer. Known globally as “Walking Tours”, Tourism Radio has coupled the latest generation MP3 players with multi-lingual information of over 100 points of interest.
Together with the MP3 player, clients receive headphones and a map, where all the places of interest are clearly marked, giving them the option of designing the most suitable route. Bearing in mind the international origin of the clients who are accommodated in the hotels belonging to the chain the audio tracks are available in five different languages (English, German, French, Italian and Spanish) and they supply the essential information on the monument or place of interest in question. The MP3 players are equipped with a long-life battery that permits over 15 hours of uninterrupted listening time. Once the visit is over, the client returns the player to the hotel reception desk for the battery to be recharged.
Jacques Teichmann, CEO of Tourism Radio Group, had this to say, “Walking Tours offer the tourist an experience that no other guide can offer, guaranteeing that nothing that the great city of Barcelona has to offer will be missed”, in addition, “It is a fantastic opportunity to be in partnership with such a high calibre firm like Eurostars Hotels, who are ensuring that our value added service is utilised to their advantage, for their clientele and becomes a standard.”
The service will be available from April 2009 in eight of the Eurostars Hotels in Barcelona. Among the hotels is the Eurostars BCN Design 5*, a boutique hotel located right on the Paseo de Gracia, the Eurostars Ramblas Boquería 3*, a modern establishment situated on the doorstep of the popular marketplace on the Ramblas and the recently opened Eurostars Lex 4*. Tourism Radio is developing similar audio guides for Madrid, with the intention of distributing them in the other three establishments run by Eurostars Hotels in the capital city, amongst them is the Eurostars Madrid Tower Hotel 5*.
TourismRadio is the first GPS radio transmitter in the world with offices in Spain, New Zealand, South Africa, Namibia, Ireland and Hawaii. In addition to the Walking Tours, the company has GPS devices designed for rental cars and which offer location based tourist information in several destinations. In fact, the development of the MP3 players is the result of a market research study carried out amongst the users of the car device who requested being able to live the same experience on their walks.
Tourism Radio was created with the objective of becoming a leader in the new type of communication directed towards the tourist sector. It combines the most up-to-date technology, and the most relevant and pertinent content. A young, enterprising team capable of creating and updating this content ensures a future full of interesting projects that will revolutionize the tourism industry. The company has professional audio studios, a creative team in constant growth and a dynamic R and D department.
