Comedian Earthquake Gets Second Big Look
Stand Up Comedian Earthquake Plays Husband to Wife Wanda Sykes in New Kevin Smith Film.
Los Angeles, CA, July 20, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Comedian Earthquake, who has become the quietest explosion in all of urban comedy, will walk across your big screen yet again. After wowing audiences this year at Tom Joyner’s Fantastic Voyage 2006, the Soul Beach Music Festival 2006 and Alonzo Mourning’s Zo's Summer Groove All Star Celebrity Weekend, (amongst other dates), ‘Quake’ is busy… and not just being a star-in-waiting as the natural progression of super-stardom takes place. “It seems that more and more Quake is taking the non-traditional road to success”, says Executive Assistant, Dave Embry. “He’s being noticed by the likes of the Kevin Smith’s and the Howard Stern’s of the world; and it’s based on pure, unadulterated genius”, Dave adds.
Earthquake
All of this is steadily materializing right before our eyes as Earthquake is presently being heralded as mega-media-mogul Howard Stern’s new favorite comedian and was hand-picked by Kevin Smith to play opposite Wanda Sykes, in his current film, Clerks II, which opens on Friday, July 21st. In this sequel to Kevin Smith’s cult-favorite Clerks, Earthquake plays a submissive husband to Wanda Sykes’ character, a role in which he is none-too-familiar. “I now understand the dynamics of ‘the stretch’. This was definitely me, playing someone who is absolutely not me”, says Quake. Proud of what he’s accomplishing on and off the big screen, Quake is equally pleased with his work in the animated film, Barnyard to be released in August. It is always interesting lending your voice to animation, and I can’t wait to see how my son reacts to this film”, says Quake.
Still wrecking comedy rooms and concert venues nationwide, Earthquake also has quite a few performances available on DVD including his first film release Getting Played, starring Vivica A. Fox and Bill Bellamy, his highly lauded HBO Comedy Series performance Earthquake: One Night Stand, fan-favorite Latham Entertainment Presents…, and his full-fledged concert performance, About Got D*mm Time, from UrbanWorks Platinum Comedy Series.
