Go-Kustom Films in Pre-Production for Rat Rod Rockers!
Hot Rod Girls Save The World Writer & Director, D.A. Sebasstian and Go-Kustom Films are now officially in pre-production for their next Lo-Fi Hot Rod Epic - Rat Rod Rockers! set for an early 2010 release.
Seattle, WA, April 05, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Rat Rod Rockers! is not a prequel nor a sequel to the campy Hot Rod Girls, but does take place in the same fictitious town, Anywhere, Washington.
The story begins when an area moonshiner dies mysteriously in a still accident. A dysfunctional Seattlite family buys his home not knowing that gallons of his special “hootch” are on the premises. Ivan, the local Russian Mob Boss, sends a gang of his thugs to retrieve the special moonshine. When the gang runs into serious resistance from the new home owners- all hell breaks loose. The violence escalates as the family refuses to budge or let the Rat Rod Gang on their property.
Said Sebasstin, "I learned so much from my five years of working on Hot Rod Girls Save The World. I want to apply that to Rat Rod Rockers! and make a leaner and meaner film in one fourth the time. This one is gonna be much more streamlined with less dialog and no space aliens or zombies. This isn't to say Rat Rod Rockers! will not have a sense of humor. I always felt that Hot Rods are in fact a kind of exaggerated automobile, almost cartoonish. I've always associate Hot Rods with the TV Show The Munsters- that's where I first saw them when I was a kid. Let other Directors make The California Kid Part II- I like my Hot Rod films campy."
The Danielle character screen tests for Rat Rod Rockers! have recently been posted on YouTube at www.youtube.com/gokustom and will be a part of the behind the scenes special feature DVD. Sebasstian (who is also a musician and composes most of his movie music) has also written the Rat Rod Rockers! title theme, which plays automatically on films website.
Primary filming for Rat Rod Rockers! will be August/September of 2009 in Seattle, Washington. Pin-Up Starlets Asia DeVinyl and Hot Rod Heidi both have leading roles in the film. Northwest Car Clubs The Rat Bastards, Demonos and Dive Bombers have all pledged their cars and support to the project.
Sebasstian's first feature film, Hot Rod Girls Save The World recently premiered in Philadelphia at the Backseat Film Festival March 2009 and will screen at the first annual Hot Rod Monster Film Festival, July 18th in Seattle. Film Threat Magazine has also just given the film a “3.5 Star - Great” and “Fantastic Film- worthy of attention” review and ratings. Not bad for a $2,600 budgeted film.
