Frito Lay Partners with Boca Java, Inc. to Send Gourmet Coffee to the Troops
Boca Java, Inc., a retailer of fresh-roasted gourmet coffee, announced today that they have matched a donation of $1,045 made by Frito Lay for Operation Million Cup, a coffee donation program supplying coffee to troops serving overseas.
Deerfield Beach, FL, April 08, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The program, which now is nearly up to 6 million cups of coffee served to the troops, began in 2003 as an initiative to donate fresh gourmet coffee to U.S. troops serving around the world. What started as a goal of one million quickly surpassed that mark due to an overwhelmingly positive response to the program from Boca Java’s customer base.
“We’re very grateful to Frito Lay for their generous donation and have matched it penny for penny in fresh-roasted coffee to make a substantial delivery sure to be enjoyed overseas,” said Kevin Holbrook, President, Boca Java. “We are thankful to all of the individuals and organizations who so graciously donate to this cause. Even in the midst of these difficult economic times, people still continue to donate. It speaks volumes about our customers and supporters.”
Boca Java matches donations and ships not only coffee, but also coffee grinders for donations of whole bean orders. They even feature a coffee blend dedicated to U.S. troops, named “Brew of Bravery,” developed by roastmaster Christopher Conover.
“We at Frito Lay feel that our troops do so much for us that we need to give back to them. Frito Lay here in Pulaski, Tennessee has a lot of very thoughtful people that feel the same way. We feel the Operation Million Cup is a great program. It gives us a way to give to our troops in a special way. Thank you for the opportunity to help. We love your program,” said Frito Lay employee Deborah Terry.
