ChronoTrack Systems Along with Warriors Tour Helps Bring Inspiration to Troops in the Middle East

Evansville, IN, April 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Warriors Tour has decided to use ChronoTrack Systems, the leader in disposable transponder timing, to time all of its races in the Middle East. The group of 7 different events, at 7 different bases, on 7 different days will use ChronoTrack’s disposable D-tag solution and timing equipment to provide rugged mobility along with fast, efficient timing to all seven of it’s 2 mile runs.

What first started out as a 2 mile Armed Forces physical training run for our troops in the Middle East, turned into one mans quest to bring inspiration, motivation and support to a group of young men and women serving our country. The man is Rob “Robi” Powers, a national team athlete, collegiate and Olympic Teams coach, founder of the online running community runnerswall.com and one of the best announcers in the industry. His quest along with the help from many others is the Warriors Tour.

“I had the idea and reached out to the running community and what I got back was nothing but great responses” said Powers. “I feel so lucky, I was able to pull together a group of American running icons, have the support of some of the top events in the country and get the best equipment on the market to give the troops the level of quality they deserved.”

Powers, believes one of the keys to successfully launching this event was finding the right timing system. He needed a system that was accurate, mobile, compact and easy to use, one that could do on the spot registration and could be operated with as little help as possible. After extensive evaluation, Powers found that ChronoTrack’s technology fits the criteria perfectly. Its compact and durable system, along with their D-tag technology adhered directly to the Bib, makes the ChronoTrack Systems such a great fit for these races.

“With ChronoTrack we are able to offer a timed race which we would have never be able to offer before,” said Powers. “When going to the Middle East you have very limited cargo space and since we are in a live combat zone you have to be as mobile as possible, the conditions could change at any moment.” Powers further added, “With ChronoTrack’s technology being so thin and placed right on the bib we are able to take all of the seven events race bibs and the timing equipment and carry it in one vehicle, which is impossible to do with any other timing system.” In addition Powers said, “we were also able to cut the volunteers needed at each event by 50%. In my 22 years in the industry I have yet to see a system that has all the capabilities that the ChronoTrack system possesses.”

To time the races Powers chose the father and son duo of Rick and Josh Stern, from Split Second Timing. Rick and Josh have been in the timing business for over 29 years and were one of the 1st companies to bring transponder timing to North America. They were one of the 1st to get the new ChronoTrack Systems and are thrilled with the opportunity to be the official timers of the Warriors Tour. “They are 2 of the best in the business,” according to Powers.

“I am so proud to be a part of this,” said Rick Sterns. “So many of my friends served in the Military and died in Viet Nam that I am honored to be able to go to the Middle East and try and give back something that will allow our men and women to experience what so many Americans get to do on a weekly basis, I am very proud to be going over there with my son Joshua.”

The actual race locations, times and participants along with the final results will remain a secret until completion of all events. Powers asks that anyone who feels the need to reach out to our Troops to do so by posting photos and messages on the Warriors Tour Facebook page.
