RedVector Employees Help Build Habitat House
Corporate Work Day Allows Employees to Give Back to the Community
Tampa, FL, April 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- On April 1, nearly 50 volunteer employees from RedVector and Care2Learn, together known as VectorLearning, participated in the 2009 Corporate Work Day benefiting Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County. This is the third year RedVector has held a Corporate Work Day allowing employees to help build a Habitat home.
“We are grateful to VectorLearning employees for the time and energy they put into the recent Work Day,” said Ralph Jackson, Affiliate CEO-Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Hillsborough of County. “It is efforts like this that help Habitat for Humanity provide decent, affordable housing for local families.”
VectorLearning employees, many with no construction experience, spent the day completing various construction tasks, such as working on the roof and cutting and applying siding. The Habitat house, located on North 76th street in Tampa, is next to a home that VectorLearning employees helped construct in 2008. The Corporate Work Day followed an employee-driven fundraiser and corporate donation.
“It is great to work for a company that is able and willing to give back to the community so generously and so often,” said Scott Roan, Vice President of Information Technology. “The annual group build and fundraiser allows employees to directly contribute to Habitat for Humanity, and I am proud RedVector makes this possible.”
