Eliot Marshall a Broomfield, Colorado resident and local MMA sensation was recently featured on the Spike TV reality hit “The Ultimate Fighter”. In this show top fighters from all over the world share a home in Las Vegas Nevada, the fight capitol of the world. Each week two fighters face off in a mixed martial arts competition with the loser eliminated from the show. The winners go on to face each other for the title of “The Ultimate Fighter” and a six figure contract with the UFC (The largest most successful MMA organization in the world). Eliot Marshall, an instructor at Easton Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Boulder lost a close fight in the semi-finals by a close decision. In spite of this loss, he so impressed the UFC brass that he was invited back to compete in the live “Ultimate Fighter Finale” show on spike TV. In the finale show he soundly defeated tough fighter Jules Bruchez in only a 1:27 of the first round by a rear choke submission. As a result Eliot Marshall was awarded a contract with the UFC and is set to face tough submission expert and World Jiu-Jitsu Champion Vinicius “Vinny” Magalhaes on Saturday April 18th, 2009 in Centre Bell, Canada. The event will be shown live on pay-per-view television.
A long time student turned pro MMA fighter Eliot Marshall now teaches classes to kids and adults of all ages at Easton Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Marshall, a former “Ring of Fire” and World Jiu-Jitsu Champion is know by fight fans as the “Fire Marshall”.
