Patterson Toyota Delivers Green Cars to Mt. Airy Police Department

Mt. Airy Police Department purchases two Prius Hybrids.

Mt. Airy, NC, April 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Mount Airy Police chief Roger McCreary receives the keys to 2 new Prius Hybrids from Gene Garland of Patterson Toyota. The EPA has awarded the 2009 Prius a Partial Zero Emissions Rating and in addition to the reduced emissions, Chief McCreary estimates that each Prius will use 70% less fuel than the cars they are replacing. The Prius uses a combination gasoline and electric power and is ideally suited for in-city driving since most of the power is generated by a Nickel-Metal Hydride Battery at city speeds. The Prius has won numerous awards including the 2007 "Top Pick" in Green Car category, Consumer Reports, "Best Car Value Under $23,000," Kelley Blue Book and in 2008 "Most Satisfying Vehicle Overall," Consumer Reports. The Patterson Toyota/Scion Automotive group and their sister dealerships (Chrylser, Dodge, Jeep and GM) have been servicing the fine people of Mt. Airy (27030) and surrounding area for over 30 years. They are proud and very enthusiastic about the Mt. Airy Police Department's forward thinking and environmental concerns for our community.
