The Founders Fund, Inc. Launches Website
Naples, FL, April 15, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Founders Fund, Inc. is increasing its visibility and accessibility to Collier County High School scholarship applicants. The Naples-based charitable organization has launched its initial website, located online at www.thefoundersfundinc.org in order to better serve its potential scholarship recipients.
Founders Fund Chairperson, Ray Crisci, says, “The online presence allows our organization to reach more students and give those students better access to the guidelines for application submission. I am pleased that the group has taken this step forward and I hope it encourages more applicants in the future.”
The new website features detailed scholarship information, application guidelines and a pdf file of the scholarship application. News, events and photos from the Founders Fund are updated on a regular basis. Also, the site lists the fund’s trustees, sponsors, mission statement, and historical information.
The Founders Fund, which was created in 1991 by the Founding Golf Members of The Club at Pelican Bay, awards scholarships annually to high-achievement students. In 2008, renewable annual scholarships of $2,000 each were awarded to 25 students in Collier County High Schools. 94 students at 27 different colleges, universities, vocational school, and professional programs are supported by annual scholarships from the Founders Fund. The scholarships are renewable each year the student is in school, provided that they maintain a B grade point average.
The mission of the Founders Fund is to provide financial assistance to young men and women from Collier County in their pursuit of post high school education and training. Recipients are selected on the basis of need and merit from the ten high schools of Collier County.
The Founders Fund is classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, tax-exempt charitable organization.
The Founders Fund is supported by Golf and Social Members of The CLUB, as well as many corporate sponsors which include prominent local and national businesses that are very generous in their support of the Founders Fund. Income from reserve assets and fundraising activities supports annual scholarship grants of approximately $180,000 per year. Thus far, fund scholarship awards have totaled more than $1,800,000.
