Professional Coaches Help Job Seekers
Members of Los Angeles Coaching Organization Help People Affected by the Economy.
Los Angeles, CA, April 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- A local chapter of a leading business coaching organization announces a new effort aimed at coaching people through job losses and transitions.
The Professional Coaches and Mentors Association – LA Chapter has gathered a resource for people affected by the economy, including people who have lost their jobs. PCMA-LA Members, some of LA’s most experienced business coaches and are now lending their talents to individuals and companies who need them most now through a special website at www.pcmaonline.wordpress.com.
“There’s so much fear out there right now and it’s stopping people cold,” said Betty LaMarr, President of PCMA-LA. “Coaching helps people get into action in spite of their fear, something many job seekers need right now. Our member coaches are honoring one of our organization’s values of making a difference by offering special services for people who are out of work and need help now.”
Services through this initiative include helping job seekers get their next job faster through resume assistance and job skills training. These coaches also help with the more personal work of assessing their strongest personality traits, identifying their values and clarifying their purpose in their careers. “Job seekers must begin their search with knowing first who they are and being clear about what they are seeking in a job,” says LaMarr. “There’s a lot of wheel spinning going on now and coaching can help the job search be more focused and efficient.”
A local designer, Deni Mosser, was one person helped by these efforts through Sharon Rich, a PCMA member. “After one meeting, POW!” says Mosser. “I easily accomplished something that was hanging over my head for months.”
The Professional Coaches and Mentors Association is a non-profit organization with the mission “to be the premier organization for business coaching.” Founded in 1994, PCMA has chapters in Northern California, San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles.
