GPA Presents Dispoetry Vol.1 is On Sale Now
A little bit about the author and the book.
Chicago, IL, May 27, 2005 --(PR.com)-- GPA, better known as Lorenzo McClain, has just released his debut book of poetry called "GPA Presents: Dispoetry Vol.1" which is now available on lulu.com.
GPA has been writing poetry ever since he was in fifth grade. As a boy, he was the only one in junior high that was able to write a unique style of love poems to the girl he might have liked. "That was the good old days!" He says jokingly.
GPA (Lorenzo McClain) was born on the South side of Chicago,Illinois but was raised on the North side of Chicago in East Rogers Park. "I've experience a lot of things in my short lifetime, but I am glad to have survived everything in order bring a little piece of what type of poet I really am," he says.
Dispoetry is a modern, more simplistic, creative style of writing consisting of slam poetry, fiction, short stories, and personal opinions.
"The one important factor about my book is that I believe not only the people who like to read poetry will enjoy it, but those people who don't have the patience or the knowledge of poetry will start to understand threw my work."
At the age of 22, GPA is one of the best poets to ever live but he knows he has a long way to go. "Just because my name stands for the "Greatest Poet Alive", I am well aware I have a few years until I actually earn my self titled name."
For those of you who want to know what the "Greatest Poet Alive" really means then I will explain letter by letter and word by word.
The G in "GPA" means Greatest. The word is in honor of his Great-Grandmother, Margaret Collins (Gan-Gan).
The P means "Poet." This word just simply explains what he has done all his life and that is be a poet.
The A means "Alive." The word is promise to his Great-Grandmother and a reminder to himself that as long as he is alive he will be a writer.
"This book will make you laugh, it will make you cry, it will make you scratch your head," he says.
It is on sale right now on www.lulu.com/gpa for only $13.95 for a printed version or you download it for just $3.14.
