Quintiles Named to Top 25 Canadian Employers List
Montreal, Canada, April 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Quintiles has been recognized by the Great Place to Work® (GPTW) Institute Canada as one of the top 25 companies to work for in the country. It is the first time Quintiles has made the Canadian GPTW list since the Institute’s awards were launched there in 2005.
Quintiles is the world’s largest pharmaceutical services company and has its Canadian headquarters in Saint-Laurent, Quebec, near Montreal, with a team of 215 employees covering the country from the east to the west coast. Within the region, Quintiles provides services including clinical trial monitoring and feasibility, project management, drug safety, data management, and biostatistics.
"At Quintiles, our employees share a common mission," said Human Resources Manager Johanne Lacasse. "That mission is to help bring safe and effective new medicines to market more quickly. The expertise and passion our employees bring to their work is what makes Quintiles who we are," said Lacasse. "On behalf of our entire management team, I would like to say ‘Thank you’ to all our employees in Canada for helping make Quintiles one of Canada’s best workplaces."
This year, Quintiles and its Innovex division have already been recognized in the Great Place to Work Institute’s "Best Companies to Work For" lists in Ireland, Germany, Italy and France. Quintiles and Innovex received 10 workplace awards throughout Europe, South America and Asia in 2008. Additionally, Quintiles was named among Computerworld magazine’s "Top 100 Places to Work in IT" in 2008 and was cited as the best midsized employer in Hungary by Hewitt Associates.
Each year, the Great Place to Work® Institute produces annual "Lists of Best Workplaces" in 40 countries around the world, gathering data from more than 3,800 companies. This year’s "Best Workplaces in Canada" competition included more than 230 company nominations and surveys of nearly 30,000 employees.
The Canadian GPTW list is compiled each year with competition based on two criteria:
Two-thirds of each company’s score comes from a 57-statement survey completed by a random selection of company employees along with their open-ended comments about their organization;
The remaining one-third of the score is derived from an in-depth review of the organization’s culture, including an evaluation of Human Resources policies and procedures.
Using these data points, Quintiles was ranked as the 25th best company to work for in Canada this year. The 2009 rankings were published in a special national report from the nationally distributed newspaper, The Globe and Mail.
