Casey Cares Foundation Helps the Planet as Well as Critically Ill Children

The Casey Cares Foundation winds up with wind energy for this coming Earth Day, April 22, 2009. Powered with 100% wind energy using offsets from Clean Currents, the charity will save 24% on utility costs allowing that savings to be used for their uplifting programs for critically ill children. Additionally, switching to wind energy reduces the amount of gas emissions in the environment, thus helping our sick children breathe better.

Baltimore, MD, April 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- As of Earth Day, April 22, 2009, the Casey Cares Foundation will be now powered with 100% wind energy from Clean Currents. By helping to save the planet, save energy and going green, the charity will also be saving 24% of its utility costs which will allow more money to go directly to their programs. The Casey Cares Foundation provides uplifting programs with a special touch to critically ill children and their families. The charity has also gone paperless and the staff is planning to wear green to promote “Earth Day.”

The conscientious charity purchased the wind power in order to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions among other reasons. Program Development Director, Erin Webb Ritter negotiated the deal. “As a charity that serves sick children we feel it’s socially responsible to reduce our carbon footprint.” Erin explained, “Our goal is to improve the lives of these children, and if we can help them breathe better by reducing the amount of pollution in the air, why wouldn’t we?”
