Tampa, FL, April 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- On Sunday, April 19, five area salons, including Coiffeur Ingá Salon, will participate in the largest second- annual, independent, education-based hair show in the Tampa Bay Area.
The (Always Moving Forward Show) starts at 4:00 p.m. at the Ritz Ybor. The show is founded and hosted by Scott Bentley of Bentley salon. The show will feature guest artists and cutting edge educational ideas for the hair and fashion industry.
The goal and focus of this event is not only to promote education and creative inspiration for Tampa Bay hairdressers, but to present a new project called Education for Life (EFL). Education for Life began in North Brazil in 2004. This program is sponsored by Intercoiffure, an international, invitation-only organization of salon professionals that bases its philosophy on continuing education, high-level salon management and a high-fashion image in the beauty and fashion industry. The goal is to provide training to young people ages 16-21, and equip them with the necessary skills in hair-dressing in order to give them the opportunity for a future in an otherwise bleak environment. Since 2004, 90% of EFL’s trainees have found a job that will keep them off the street and free from crime and drugs.
Salon owner, Inge Handing of Coiffeur Ingá Salon, also a member of Intercoiffure and an Ambassador for this project, will be presenting the EFL program to the Tampa Bay Area during this local hair show. The goal is to introduce the EFL project, to promote awareness and to raise funds for this incredible program to give young people a future.
