Wake County Economic Development and Red Hat Discuss Strengths of Local Economy

Raleigh, NC, April 18, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Wake County Economic Development (WCED) (www.raleigh-wake.org) has announced the official release of its first video profile for “Raleigh-Wake County Business Showcase,” a new video series profiling locally-based companies that continue to grow and remain competitive during the nation’s current economic slowdown. The first profile features the Raleigh-based company Red Hat, Inc. Amidst the current economic downturn, Red Hat has continued to represent one of North Carolina’s most successful and fastest-growing companies, remaining competitive in its market sector worldwide. The Red Hat video features interviews with Tom Rabon, vice president of Corporate Affairs, and DeLisa Alexander, senior vice president of People and Brand. The “Raleigh-Wake County Business Showcase” series is hosted by WCED and made available to the public by way of a free download at its Web site. General announcements alert the media and public when new videos are available for download. Featured companies are selected from across Raleigh and Wake County.

The new showcase video series represents one of many social media and new media projects planned or currently underway for WCED. The organization now hosts a blog on its newly redesigned Web site, as well as a section for online news and audio podcasts.
