'Snack Attack' Detected by Sonitrol Pacific Ends in Arrests
Tacoma, WA, April 19, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Tacoma Police Officers arrested two juveniles suspected of helping themselves to treats in a school’s milk cooler after Sonitrol Pacific detected them April 15.
Sonitrol Pacific Operator Kris Etheridge received an activation from the school’s perimeter security sensors and listened to real-time audio to verify threatening activity was taking place. She heard crashing noises and called Tacoma School Patrol and the Tacoma Police Department. As Etheridge continued to monitor the school’s audio sensors, she heard sounds of movement and faint voices.
Officers arrived at the school and searched the facility. They located two juveniles inside and took them into custody.
According to a representative from Tacoma School Patrol, the youth did no damage, but helped themselves to items in the school’s milk cooler.
Officers suspect the two may have been responsible for a rock thrown through the school’s kitchen window the previous night, April 14.
