Come See for Yourself. Parents Have a Choice.

Vista, CA, April 21, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Despite a common thought, parents do have a choice as to where they send their children for school. Today's youth represent an enormous untapped resource. Their energy, enthusiasm, creativity, and insight offer critical solutions to many pressing problems - ranging from how best to use technology in education to what is needed to create a peaceful world. In order for technology to be effective in today's education system, it needs to be intelligently integrated into a rich, meaning-centered curriculum which is what Casita Center for Math, Science, and Technology have developed in their daily curriculum.

On Thursday, April 23, 2009; starting at 5:30 PM, Casita Center for Math, Science, and Technology (260 Cedar Road, Vista, CA 92084) invites you to come see for yourself the wonderful programs offered at the Vista based magnet school. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit the classrooms, view in awe the amazing projects created by the students, talk with teachers and parents, as well as participate in a fundraiser spearheaded by the Casita Center for Math, Science, and Technology PTA.

As a magnet school, Casita offers students an expanded learning experience with a special focus on technology, science and mathematics. With specialists on staff and expanded facilities, Casita brings the new technologies and methods of the 21st century into the K-5 classroom. Each week students attend math and science labs. The lab specialists design and facilitate inquiry-based investigations with a focus on global awareness. Students at Casita are not only learning math and science standards; they are applying their knowledge to real world issues, addressing such topics as alternative energy and deforestation. The goal at Casita is to instill in our students the love of math and science, the ability to think critically and problem solve and a drive to make a difference in their world.

“This is a great opportunity for current families of Casita Center for Math, Science, and Technology to see the school but also for potential new families to experience a school unlike any other! Parents DO have a choice, especially in Vista and it is important that they have an opportunity like this to truly see with their own eyes all that Casita does,” explained Cheryl Protzeller, a Casita Center parent, supporter, and PTA member.

Casita Center for Technology, Science, and Math has transformed the traditional “lecture” style teaching by combing theory based learning with practical application and incorporating a community / world involvement, instilling how each individual can make a difference. Casita Center for Technology, Science, and Math also promotes pride in and from every student; respect for self, others, and the environment. The mission for Casita Center is to educate all students to become creative problem solvers and life-long learners. They accomplish this by engaging students in hands-on explorations in a safe and healthy environment.
