Self-Storage Confidence Index Announces Second Quarter Results
Phoenix, AZ, April 22, 2009 --(PR.com)-- MiniCo Publishing has announced the results of the Self-Storage Confidence Index (SSCI) survey for the second quarter of 2009. An initiative of MiniCo Publishing, The Parham Group, and Cushman & Wakefield, Inc., the index is designed to anticipate the effects of economic conditions and trends on self-storage operations.
“This quarter we are starting to see the impact of the down-turning economy on self‑storage,” commented Publisher Poppy Behrens. She added, “In previous surveys, respondents said they expected to see income decreases in the first quarter of 2009, and those decreases were realized along with decreases in rental and occupancy rates.” Ms. Behrens also noted that many respondents report that they expect to see income decreases, increasing use of rental rate concessions, and a continuing decline in the national economic outlook during the third quarter of 2009.
