Raquel is active in the community as a member of Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra Beach & St. Augustine Chamber of Commerce over the last six years and previously was on the Board of Directors for the Professional Women’s Council (2004-2008).

Raquel’s networking activities include membership with Business Networking International for the past five years and include multiple tradeshows with the most recent winning best overall booth through dedicated performance portrayed by Raquel’s focus on detail and presentation.

Raquel’s interest and hobbies when she is not contributing to community efforts include golfing, watersports and spending time at the beach.

The Man & Woman of the Year campaign is a fundraising competition among individuals in the community who vie for the honor of being the Man or Woman of the Year. Candidates are judged solely on a philanthropic basis. The 2009 Man & Woman of the Year will be named based on their success in generating funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society during an eight week campaign which will begin at the Kickoff Party and will culminate at the Grand Finale Celebration. The candidates raise money in honor of local blood cancer survivors, our Boy and Girl of the Year.

After 8 weeks of fundraising, candidates and their guests will join sponsors and other prominent community members at our Grand Finale celebration for the announcement of the Man & Woman of the Year. Celebrate the outstanding achievements of all candidates while participating in the excitement of live and silent auctions and enjoying fabulous food, cocktails and music.
