Over 5000 Students Visited Shiksha.com Education Fair
The ongoing examinations did not stop over 5000 students from visiting Shiksha.com Education Fair in Delhi on 18-19th April, 2009 at Pragati Maidan. Over 30 Institutes offering courses on Management, Animation, Retail, IT, Hospitality and Study Abroad options participated at the fair, where students got counseling from institutes and registered for higher studies.

The ongoing examinations did not stop over 5000 students from visiting Shiksha.com Education Fair in Delhi on 18-19th April, 2009 at Pragati Maidan. Over 30 Institutes offering courses on Management, Animation, Retail, IT, Hospitality and Study Abroad options participated at the fair, where students got counseling from institutes and registered for higher studies.
Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Prakash Sangam, Business Head, Shiksha.com said, “We are glad to have provided a forum for thousands of students to interact face to face with institutes from across India. At Shiksha.com we understand that higher education is a matter of concern for students and parents and this Education Fair was a guiding platform to help them move ahead in the right direction.”
The fair provided an opportunity for the Institutes to showcase their wide range of courses and to interact directly with prospective students. Students explored, identified and gathered details of the courses of their choice.
The Lead Sponsor for the Fair was School Of Inspired Leadership (SOIL), a premier Business School in Gurgaon. According to Nishchae Suri, President SOIL, School of Inspired leadership, "The Shiksha fair was a platform for us to interact with thousands of students and understand their perspective on higher education. For students meeting Business schools at one point and judging for themselves the best option was a great opportunity."
Students were enthused to participate at the Fair and interact with counselors to get guidance on the courses offered by the institutes. Mudita Seth, a student from Lady Irwin College said, “I want to pursue Management after my graduation. Today, I got an understanding of various management courses like Healthcare Management among others.” A lot of students were accompanied by their Parents to the Fair. Parents were glad to gain knowledge on the various courses in India as well as Abroad. Mr. Sandeep Ahuja, a parent visiting the Fair said, “We were ignorant of the various courses that our children can pursue, apart from Engineering and Medical. It is great to know the options available in Media, Animation and Aviation.”
Other institutes participating at the fair are Canadian Education Centre, Pearl Academy of Fashion, Indian Retail School, Manipal Education, Pearl Business School and Western International University, USA among many others.
Having met over 900 students at the fair, Ashish Das, GM – Corp Comm, Sharda Group of Institutions, said “We recognize that students are confused and need clarity on education options after Class -12 and Graduation.
