Vancouver, Canada, April 24, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Kinetix Wireless Inc. has incorporated JOpt.SDK into their mobile workforce management system in order to offer their customers automated field service schedules and the reduction of total travel time for a mobile field workforce, where each mobile crew is tasked with visiting many customer locations per day. The Kinetix MBLink application combines 1000 to 2000 customer locations with approximately 50 – 80 service crews on a daily basis. Determination of a least-cost routing scenario would be almost impossible without the kind of sophisticated optimization algorithm provided by JOpt. Therefore Kinetix has integrated the JOpt.SDK software libraries into their existing mobile workforce management system. Work is assigned to the most appropriate crew, and in the most efficient ordering to minimize driving time. This allows Kinetix’s customers to maximize workforce efficiency and minimize cost.
The Kinetix/JOpt implementation provides an optimized distribution of work orders across available work crews, taking into consideration availability and working hours, requisite skill requirement to perform work and travel time between orders. Furthermore time required on-site to perform work and time window within which order may be worked (appointments, blackout dates) are also considered.
