Grand Opening of Masy Systems’ Biorepository
State of the Art Biorepository Opening in February 2009.
Pepperell, MA, February 18, 2009 --(PR.com)-- In April of 2008, Masy Systems, Inc. announced their intention to open a state of the art biorepository at their new location in Pepperell, Massachusetts. They are now very pleased to inform you that Phase 1 of the Biorepository is complete and will be ready for product on February 2nd. This new endeavor offers controlled temperature storage options for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and healthcare industries, as well as academic and governmental institutions. In keeping with the longstanding traditions of Masy Systems' outstanding customer service, dedicated response to client needs will be their distinction.
Over the course of the year Masy Systems has built a repository from the ground up. Based on feedback from their customers, a review of industry best practices and extensive planning, the Masy Biorepository has been uniquely designed to match and exceed the best facilities in the field. They have designed all essential systems with multiple redundancies to insure that all products stored in the Biorepository are kept at the required temperatures at all times. A computerized inventory management and bar coding system is in place to track client samples from the moment they reach their door until they are back in your possession. A validated Masy Commander facility monitoring system has been installed and is recording the temperature in each chamber every 10 seconds. A dedicated (and local) staff will respond to any abnormal events 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Masy has incorporated redundant alarms into the system to alert repository staff of significant temperature changes within the chambers or a loss of power to the facility.
The facility will also have redundant security features. These security features include 24 hour video surveillance and alarms, controlled keyless access at both the company and Biorepository level, and the very latest in keyless locks on the chambers themselves.
Standard operating procedures and work instructions cover every aspect of Biorepository operations to insure quality and consistency in the handling and storage of your samples. Best practices in the Biorepository industry have been studied and incorporated into all operations. Masy Systems has integrated the best attributes repositories can offer and are now ready to provide a top of the line storage facility.
The chambers currently installed at Masy Systems offer controlled temperature storage space in conditions ranging from ambient temperatures to Liquid Nitrogen Freezers. They are offering a number of options for storage interval and volume in order to provide their customers with just the right amount of space for just the right amount of time while maximizing their cost savings. In addition, they are happy to accept their customers' chambers into their facility. Ample space exists for the addition of multiple chambers which they will operate, monitor and maintain on their clients' behalf. Another unique service they are offering is contingency planning; for a modest fee their customers can reserve space at their facility to be used in case of emergency. Should an impending weather event or other crisis occur there will be a place waiting for your samples at the Masy Biorepository.
The next phase of the Biorepository will add a cascading storage unit manufactured by Luwa Environmental Specialties LLC. The unit will consist of a 5,000 cu. ft. walk-in unit with 5˚C and -20˚C chambers for bulk storage of materials requiring a controlled temperature environment. Within the -20˚C chamber will be a six door, 1,150 cu. ft., -80˚C reach-in chamber. They are currently expecting this additional storage capability to be available in the second quarter of 2009. Masy has also ordered from Luwa four 1,000 cu. ft. walk-in temperature and humidity controlled units for stabilization storage and testing. These units are all capable of running at 2ºC-8ºC and any conditions between 25˚C/60%RH and 40˚C/75%RH
