Pride In Action Community Services, Inc. embarks upon a new adventure as they announce plans for their new day camp, CAMP H.Y.P.E (Hearing Impaired Youth Empowered) for deaf and hearing impaired youth ages 7 – 17 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Jacksonville, FL, April 26, 2009 --(PR.com)-- For parents of children that are deaf or hearing-impaired, there is still time when considering summer camp options. Pride In Action, a non-profit organization will now offer an extension to its list of social services programs, with the creation of CAMP H.Y.P.E (Hearing Impaired People Empowered).
CAMP H.Y.P.E. is a six week "funcational" and exciting summer program that has been exclusively designed for deaf and hearing-impaired youth ranging in ages from 7-17. The camp will serve to empower the youth by providing them with necessary life, social, and academic skills that will enhance a chance for success in the lives of these children as the mature into young adults.
Beginning June 15, 2009 through July 29, 2009, each day CAMP H.Y.P.E. will offer innovative activities for the camp participants in an environment that will foster productive and independent youth.
The founder and CEO of Pride In Action, Dr. Diane Clark, believes that an investment in the education of those who are deaf and with hearing loss will reap great rewards in the future as they become mature, responsible adults and productive members of society.
As the first of its kind, participants in the inaugural class will have a chance to gain very special friendships with those who will understand their struggles and will celebrate their successes. The children will actually have the opportunity to create a DVD in sign language expressing their ideas to other deaf and hearing impaired youth regarding the things learned in the camp.
CAMP H.Y.P.E is priced at an affordable rate of $55 a week, and this will include all daily activities from 7:00 a.m. to 6 p.m., two healthy snacks and lunch. For more information contact us at 904-733-5724.
