Savoo Launches as the UK's First Branded Voucher Site

Internet-based company Savoo has launched as the UK’s first branded voucher site, simplifying the process of saving money on everyday shopping bills with online discount codes. Voucher websites were the 2nd fastest growing online sector in the UK last year, but thousands of Britons are missing out on savings that can add up to hundreds of pounds, simply because of the social embarrassment associated with using vouchers.

London, United Kingdom, April 26, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Internet-based company Savoo has launched as the UK’s first branded voucher site, simplifying the process of saving money on everyday shopping bills with online discount codes.

During 2008, 9.8 million Brits used discount websites, but many more have been put-off by the social embarrassment associated with using vouchers. Added to that, the often complex nature of traditional coupon sites means thousands of people are missing out on savings. Savoo has addressed both these issues, with friendly branding and a system that’s simple to use.

Savoo has a dedicated team scouring the Web on a daily basis to find the best deals to pass on to their users, along with sophisticated software which ensures expired deals are removed from the site. This means bargain hunters can quickly find a current voucher without having to trawl through out-of-date deals to get there.

Finding specific deals is also very simple, with stores and their vouchers listed alphabetically as well as categorically. For example, finding a Dell voucher is as easy as looking under ‘D’ or in the ‘Computer and Electronics’ category or searching “Dell” in the search box.

Reports following the Chancellor’s Budget 2009 suggest the UK will be in debt for at least a decade, and this will lead to a dramatic increase in the number of bargain-hungry British shoppers searching online for discount vouchers. Savoo incorporates offers and vouchers saving up to 75% on such High Street names such as Tesco, Asda, Boots, Argos, and Curry’s, along with such popular brand name retailers as Dell, Adobe, and Apple.

Using Savoo is completely free, and its registered users can participate by voting for their favourite deals, bringing all the best bargains straight to the attention of everyone else. Currently High Street store Game vouchers are some of the top-ranking favourites amongst Savoo users.

The company’s CEO Loren Bendele says: “Voucher websites were the second fastest growing online sector in the UK during 2008. By launching Savoo as an easy to remember and simple to use site, we hope to bring more savings to thousands more UK households and businesses.”

Notes to Editors:

The number of British shoppers searching online for discount vouchers has increased by 133 per cent over the last 12 months, according to research by Hitwise.

YouGov research found that 48% of online shoppers were more likely to use stores offering voucher codes.

According to Nielson-Online in 2008 voucher websites were the 2nd fastest growing online sector in the UK.

www.savoo.co.uk launched in October 2008 as www.vouchernetwork.co.uk, and became branded as Savoo in April 2009. It is the sister company to Savings.com, one of the largest voucher sites in the USA.

Registration and use of Savoo is completely free, and users can vote for the best deals, bringing them to the top as customer favourites, thereby bringing the most popular deals to everyone’s attention.
