Strand Life Sciences Solution for Bioinformatics Challenges in NGS

Bangalore, India, April 28, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Strand Life Sciences announced that it is developing a new software solution for the analysis of data from Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) experiments.

This new solution incorporates algorithms optimized to process NGS data while focusing on integration with downstream biological analysis. The solution will support most of the applications being performed on NGS platforms. Strand is projecting the first release of the solution towards the end of summer this year.

The new solution is being developed on Strand’s award-winning avadis® platform. avadis® is a comprehensive data analysis, visualization and workflow optimization technology on which several Strand products are built, including GeneSpring®, the leading omics data analysis product suite built in partnership with Agilent Technologies.

Strand is a member of Illumina Connect bioinformatics partnership program that promotes integration and advanced analysis of data from various Illumina products including their NGS platforms.
