AHRM (Association for Human Resource Management) Workshop for HR Professionals Offers Practical Advice in Difficult Economic Times: 'Surrender, Survive or Succeed in These Tough Times?'

Grand Rapids, MI, April 28, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Workshop for HR Professionals Offers Practical Advice in Difficult Economic Times.

Falling home prices amid record foreclosures, the credit crisis, inflation-eroding pay, declining dollar value, and layoffs are everywhere. These are trying times for everyone, including HR professionals, who must help ensure the health of their businesses and employees.

What is the strategic role of HR professionals during these economic times, especially when a typical response is often layoffs? What are the alternatives? On May 20th an HRCI certified workshop for HR professionals will present information about taking control through a Strategic HR approach to managing their Human Capital. This workshop is designed for Human Resource Professionals who are looking for innovative and cost effective solutions to manage their human capital services during our current economy, when your organizations expect 'more to be done - with less'.

'Surrender, Survive or Succeed in These Tough Times?' is a 3 hour workshop presented by Nancy Volpe, SPHR, GPHR, and MBA. She will draw from her 20+ years of Dept of Labor/OFCCP, legal, and Executive HR practitioner experience to develop other HR professionals to think, act and perform more strategically. Volpe is the founder of the Center for People Solutions LLC, an HR consulting & coaching company, and is known to her clients as The Strategic HR Coach.

This interactive session will view various HR services through a Strategic Business Partner lens and discover opportunities and best practices developed by HR colleagues. The focus will be on staffing, benefits, rewards, training & development, employee relations and other HR services. Those who attend will leave with a sense of empowerment and an action plan to further assess several options for applicability in their own organization. They will learn how HR can add value to their organization's bottom line in any economic climate.

Register early for this very timely and practical workshop. Registration must be made in advance at www.ahrm.net, as attendance is limited.
