Advocates for Children Presents Duck Derby 8: You Lucky Duck

Cartersville, GA, April 29, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Spring has arrived once again and Duck Derby 8: You Lucky Duck is right around the corner. On May 16, ducks of all ages will come together with Advocates for Children to send thousands of ducks down the Etowah River in effort to raise support and awareness for the organization.

With the 8th annual fundraising celebration fast approaching, now is the chance to join the fun while doing a part to help these children who have fallen victim to abuse. This year's theme, "You Lucky Duck" offers the opportunity for all to adopt a duck and potentially change a child's luck forever. By adopting a duck, you will join over 20,000 other rubber ducks on the Etowah River in the largest duck race in the Southeast.

"The Duck Derby is our largest event and the ducks have become a brand for our organization. When duck season comes around each year, people take notice. They realize that the ducks represent the children we help," said Advocates' Special Events Coordinator, Tom Shinall.

It only takes $5 to adopt a duck and join the race to save children's lives. Ducks are also available in Quack Packs of six for $25, a Quacker's Dozen of 13 for $50, and even VID (Very Important Duck) packages containing 50 ducks for $250.
