Unity in Motion Inc. Granted 501(c)(3) Status
Unity in Motion, Inc. (UIM), a youth-focused social service organization in Milwaukee, WI today announced it has been granted 501(c)(3) tax exempt status.
Milwaukee, WI, April 30, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Unity in Motion, Inc. (UIM), a youth-focused social service organization today announced it has been granted 501(c)(3) tax exempt status by the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The IRS has classified UIM. as a public charity, which
means that contributions to the organization are tax exempt. UIM provides literacy programs, non-violent martial arts instruction,leadership and values training, educational assistance, community outreach and mentoring activities targeted to reach at promise youth in the Milwaukee central city. The program is staffed by all volunteers and is offered at no cost to participants who perform community service to earn the right to participate.
Allen Ruppel, president of UIM.said, “Receiving 501(c)(3) status was critical for our development as it provides more opportunity for donors, volunteers and other agencies to contribute to our work while helping to build alliances with other local non-profits to maximize expertise, knowledge and creativity.”
The goal of UIM. is to develop youth physically, mentally, and emotionally by building strong literacy skills, teaching physical discipline, instilling solid core values and promoting an attitude of service to others.
“We look forward to meeting additional funding requirements through a newly expanded network of donors, social entrepreneurs and humanitarian organizations that our not-for-profit status will now provide,” said Jeff DeAngelis, vice president and fund raising director for UIM.
