Elite Sports Physical Therapy Brings Fremont Orthopedic and Sports Rehabilitation Into 21st Century

Fremont, CA, April 30, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Entering into its 3rd year serving the Fremont community and the East Bay, Elite Sports Physical Therapy (ESPT) is proud to be the premier provider of sports and orthopedic rehabilitation to the Tri-City area. Beginning with the vision of bringing world-class sports medicine and physical therapy care to the general public, ESPT has broken the mold of the typical outpatient physical therapy clinic.

“With the emergence of the world wide web and the internet, people are more educated now than ever before. So at ESPT, we want to make sure that all our patients receive the full benefit of the physical therapists’ skills,” says ESPT’s Director of Physical Therapy and CEO, Jacon C. Chun, MPT, SCS, ATC, CSCS.

At many PT clinics around the nation and locally, patients will spend only a portion of their appointment time with the licensed physical therapist. The other parts of their treatments will be administered by an aide or an assistant, while their therapist is across the room working on someone else.

This is not the case at Elite Sports Physical Therapy. ESPT provides the most 1-on-1 physical therapist time of any clinic in the local area. And patients will never be double-booked because Jacon believes that each and every patient deserves the full attention of himself and his PT experts.

“For a professional athlete, you would never see them passed around to an intern or assistant for the majority of the treatment session. They would spend most of the time with the physical therapist or athletic trainer in charge,” says Jacon. “So why do we think it is ok to do that in private practice? Because it is more profitable? Does that make for good quality clinical care?”

With firsthand experience at some of the top sports medicine facilities in the nation, Jacon, a former physical therapist and athletic trainer for Stanford University Sports Medicine, says the public already notices the difference at ESPT.

“When we set foot in Fremont with this business model, some people were skeptical because of the high costs involved for lease in the area and the declining reimbursement rates from many insurance payers. What we are finding is people choosing to come to us, because we are giving them more for their insurance money at ESPT,” says Jacon. “This allows us to grow to meet those costs, but still maintain the highest level of physical therapy care.”

Elite Sports Physical Therapy is an in-network provider for most major insurance companies and accepts Medicare and worker’s compensation patients as well. For patients that prefer to pay out-of-pocket or do not have insurance, ESPT has cash rates available and will work with all individuals on payment plans for their specific circumstances.

“If the cost to the patient is the same at any other clinic, it’s a no brainer for them to pick the one that gives them the highest level of care,” states Jacon. “In fact, we often see people switch clinics to us or come to us if they feel like progress has plateaued or has been less than optimal somewhere else. It’s kind of an honor for us to work on these challenging cases where some people may feel they are ‘unfixable.’ We take pride in showing the community what real physical therapy, physical therapy for the 21st century, is all about.”
