Monroe Blakkk and The SpnCycle Entertaiment Group to Begin 90 City Promotional Tour in May

Local rap artist, Monroe Blakkk, will leave Macon Georgia traveling throughout the country on a 90 city promotional tour to promote his music and preserve the essence of Hip Hop that will take him to various locals over the United States that include Wichita Kansas, Chicago Illinois, Jacksonville Florida, Albany New York and many major cities in between.

Macon, GA, April 30, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Local rapper, Monroe Blakkk, also known as Eric Jarrell from Bolingbroke Georgia, has established himself as a polished and accomplished artist and is now hitting the road to promote his upcoming release, My Life in My Mic, due to hit stores and nationwide release on May 5, 2009.

Monroe states that the new release will focus on self reflections and stories that the everyday person can relate to. “My music is all about being real. I don’t have 20 cars, a giant home and a different woman each day. That’s not me and that’s not the everyday guy. I am in a normal marriage with normal kids; we live a normal lifestyle and the normal ups and downs. I want to go out and speak from a normal point of view.”

Fletcher Batts Iv, CEO of the SpnCycle Entertainment Group, LLC, states that “people get too caught up in the bling (jewels) and the bang (guns). That’s not what Hip Hop is all about. When Hip Hop first started and people killed it and said that it wouldn’t last over 20 years ago, they were afraid. Hip Hop gave the everyday man a voice. He could express himself either on the corner performing through dancing, rapping, beat-boxing or in the studio and radio through rap battles, bragging and boasting about who’s hot and who’s not.”

Batts goes on to add, “Hip Hop isn’t dead. Never has been and never will be. What has died is the original essence of what Hip Hop is all about. Certain types of rap have lost its luster and it may be perceived that that part of Hip Hop has died, but it hasn’t. It just got dominated by another type of Hip Hop. This ringtone phase that we are going through will be dominated by the next thing, and that thing by the next. But we’ve went through so many changes of dominance from party, to battle, to east versus west, to gangsta, to booty-shake, to new York/Wu tang style, to social conscious, and so many more that Hip Hop now has an identity crisis.”

Monroe adds, “There’s not a lot of substance in Hip Hop these days, and the guys with substance aren’t getting any radio play. The guys that are getting radio play are these ringtone rappers, and people glorifying guns, rims, chains, and such. Guys like Common, Talib Qwali, and Mos Def are all world-class rappers. Instead, the industry has them on a lower tier than Soldier Boy, Plies, and G-Spot Boyz. I’m not saying those guys aren’t Hip Hop, I am saying that they are not just what Hip Hop is about. My music is about perspective. It’s about what we all go through. Everyone from the homeless on the street to the President and Michelle Obama can find something in my music that will make them say, ‘I know what he’s talking about’, that’s my music.”

Monroe will spread to various cities beginning on April 28.

“The May tour is the beginning phase of the promotional tour”, states Batts. “There is a Spring Phase, which will take us through the end of May. There is a Summer Phase that will end in August, and then there is a Fall Phase that will end in November. We have a few scheduled stops where we will be part of the featured entertainment on many stops, but most of the stops will be us hitting the streets and letting people know that this music is out there.”

The SpnCycle Entertainment Group is a collaborative effort between Fletcher Batts and the small independent labels under it. SpnCycle will act as the parent company that will coordinator the actions of the label and act as the figurehead for the labels. Each label is owned 99% by the artist and 1% is owned by SpnCycle. Through the strategic and assisted efforts of SpnCycle, the artist will market their brand, distribute their product, and keep all rights to their music.
