Sun Branding Solutions Wins Business Continuity Planning Award

Bradford, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom, May 01, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Brand design packaging consultancy Sun Branding Solutions is believed to be the first within the industry to gain the latest Business Continuity Planning (BCP) certificate, ensuring the company minimises the risk of disruption to its business in an emergency, whilst maintaining its high standard of service for its clients.

The company has achieved full certification to BS25999, reflecting its robust and comprehensive business continuity plan, which would be fully implemented within 18 hours of a major disruption to business, such as loss of a critical system or process, loss of access to the company’s buildings or loss of a key supplier. The accreditation covers all five separate divisions within Sun Branding Solutions - Gilchrist, Sun Brand Technologies, White Zone, Your Packaging Partner and Legal Impackt at all locations.

To obtain accreditation, Sun Branding Solutions carried out a full operational risk assessment to identify any potential disruption to its services which could in turn impact on its clients’ revenue. Following this analysis the company was able to identify and rectify any weaker areas, improving its processes and optimising best practise. All business processes have been fully recorded in order of their criticality to each of Sun Branding Solutions’ clients, with a recovery strategy now in place to minimise disruption and restore services.

Sun Branding Solutions asked its existing auditors, SGS, to assess the certification, however as the standard was only introduced in 2007, SGS was not accredited by the award body UKAS to perform the assessment. Therefore, UKAS witnessed SGS performing Gilchrist’s audit so SGS could simultaneously obtain the auditing accreditation.
