The Home Brand: Home Country Apparel and Products Ignite Global Patriotism and Charitable Giving in Young People

Dallas, TX, May 02, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Entrepreneur Jonathan Morris has launched The Home Brand a company created to spark patriotism and charitable giving in young people. The Home Brand apparel and products features the national flag of the wearers’ country, with the word “Home” tagged underneath. Twenty percent of each sale will go directly back to a pre-determined reputable organization that is making “home” a better place to live.

Morris, a native of Texas, was inspired to create the Home Brand by the extreme patriotism he saw in World Cup fans. Seeing thousands of people, particularly young people, from around the world unite to support their country of origin, prompted him to explore how world football fans could represent their home country and give back simultaneously.

"I wanted to create a company with a heart, but I wanted to make sure that this heart had not only veins to receive but arteries that pumped blood away in the form of giving,” said Morris. "Not everyone can write a huge check to change the world, but we can all do a small part to make a lasting contribution to the place we call Home."

The first three Home Brand countries are the United States, South Africa and Brazil. Additional countries will be added as requested. Hope Farm, Inc., a mentoring program for inner city boys based in Ft. Worth, TX, is the recipient of donations from those calling the USA home. Proceeds from South Africa Home Brand products will go to the Shaster Foundation based in Cape Town. Home Brand Brazil products will go to Criamar, an orphanage in Ceilândia, Brazil that houses children from various circumstances of abuse and abandonment.

"An initiative such as The Home Brand is extremely important to a small non-profit organization like ours,” said Dianne Womersley, Executive Director of The Shaster Foundation. “It gives the Indlovu Project international exposure to people who want to contribute to our humanitarian work that is focused on providing life-giving opportunities such as a clinic, a youth center, a soup kitchen, a day care center and various skills development workshops to one of the poorest communities in South Africa. All donations from The Home Brand will be used to provide healthcare to young children living in the Monwabisi Park squatter camp."
