Film and Television Star Christina DeRosa Will be Racing in the Rally for Kids with Cancer Scavenger Cup Fundraiser

Los Angeles, CA, April 30, 2009 --(PR.com)-- A Message From Christina DeRosa

I signed up with Rally for Kids with Cancer as a great way to raise funds for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, an international leading Pediatrics children’s hospital that cures children, adolescents, while helping their families by offering an integrated medical care and, Padres Contra El Cancer, an organization devoted in helping Latino children and their families navigate our convoluted medical health care system by promoting a comprehensive understanding of childhood cancer and other blood disorders as well as effective methods for their treatment. I could tell you numerous statistics on the ever- growing number of young children getting this horrible disease but it means nothing. You, need to go to Children’s Hospital, look in their eyes, and see the hope that they have when they look into ours.

Their hope is that we can cure them so they can leave and be outside and play with their friends. “We” is the doctor, the nurse, the mother, the father, the grandfather, a friend, anyone, that their young innocent eyes can land on. I want to be that friend who can help cure them and because I have no medical skills, to do so, I can only do the next best thing, for all the children, which is help, raise the funds that are necessary in these tough times to help with the cure for children’s cancer. This is why, I decided to refocus my attention and help with the fundraising.

I, Christina DeRosa and David Albert Pierce are asking you to donate. To donate for that child, who is undergoing chemo, or tomorrow will undergo an operation. Please, understand that we are far more fortunate then they are. That, we unless you are a child, are far more fortunate then they are, for we were given the chance to play with our friends, but they may not.

Event Details: “The Qualifiers” Celebrity Draft Party: May 1st 2009, 7:30pm to 10:30pm - Red Carpet 6:30pm to 7:30pm - Location: The Roosevelt Hotel - Tropicana Poolside. Rally Drivers will have the opportunity to recruit and meet their desired Celebrity Navigator. Highest fundraisers will have first choice in the celebrity selection process.

“Start Your Engines” Brunch: May 2nd, 2009 @ 10:30am - Red Carpet: 11am – 11:30am - Location: Melrose Adrenaline will be running high as Rally Drivers and Celebrity Navigators reunite the following day at the “Start Your Engines” Brunch. Eva Longoria Parker will drop the checkered flag at noon to signal the start of the Rally.

The “Rally”: May 2nd, 2009 @ 12:00pm to 3:30pm | Fuelled by an extraordinary schedule of seven pit stops at some of the most exclusive establishments, venues and experiences throughout the City of Los Angeles. Rally Drivers and Celebrity Navigators will embark on a journey from one clue to the next. Fun and innovation is the call of the day. “The Winner’s Circle” Gala Dinner: May 2nd, 2009 @ 7:00pm - Red Carpet: 7:00pm to 7:30pm - Cocktails from 7:00pm to 8:00pm - Dinner, Entertainment & Live Auction: 8:00pm – 11:00pm - Beverly Hills. The final lap of the Rally is “The Winner’s Circle” Gala Dinner. Rally Drivers, Celebrity Navigators, sponsors, and invited guests will revel in memories from the past two days while enjoying an incredible dinner, first-class entertainment, live auction, and awards ceremony.
