New York, NY, May 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Everett Collection is pleased to announce that it is now representing several important image archives in the United States. They are AISA, The Advertising Archive and Photoshot.
AISA is one of the largest European photography collections of iconic artworks, illustration, and historical photography from European museum and library collections. The Everett Collection now represents over 15,000 AISA images and expects the collection to increase to 40,000 in the next 12 months. Based in Barcelona, AISA’s exceptional coverage of the history of Spanish, Mediterranean, Latin American, and Pre-Columbian history and culture, offers many images new to the American market. AISA has in depth coverage of world literary and music personalities, historical events, political leaders, architecture, and old masters. The modern art offering includes works by Matisse and Picasso, and many rarely published Impressionist paintings from museums worldwide. AISA can provide the high points, the details, and the background for fine art and historical illustration.
The Advertising Archive features 150 years of images promoting products that have been part of our lives. The focus is on British and American press ads and magazine cover artwork. It is a unique picture resource giving a deep insight into social history. The colorful visuals capture the flavor, culture and lifestyle of their eras.
Photoshot is a fast growing UK agency that covers news, entertainment, portraiture, nature, travel, arts & culture throughout Europe and the U.S. It consists of several historically significant collections such as UPPA and its imagery dates from the late 1940’s to the present.
In addition to the above Everett Collection continues to represent such important collections as, Mary Evans Picture Library, Morrorpix, Keystone, Wisconsin State Historical Society and CSU Archives.
Founded in 1927, Keystone was one of the first large photo reportage agencies. Through the years it has produced and accumulated 15 million images from all continents on a variety of subjects such as arts, sciences, everyday life, industry and major political, sporting and cultural events. A great European image archive with a French flavor, covering personalities and the arts from antiquity to the recent past. Now owned by Eyedea, who purchased the archive a few years ago from Hachette, its energetic young owner is focused on converting the best images into digital and making them readily available to a wider client base. Bits and pieces of the collection have been available through other sources over the years, but now everything is consolidated under the umbrella of the original collection. Everett is starting with a large group of the core collection, which will be updated weekly by Eyedea. Through Everett, the images are now searchable in English.
Mirrorpix was probably the first newspaper to regularly include photography, in the early 1900’s. Since then it and is allied news organizations have produced upwards of 30 million images. Current management is aggressively editing and organizing this material and hopes to soon have as many as 1 million images available online. This legendary UK newspaper has extensively covered the last century of world events. It is a largely unseen and untapped visual resource for the United States, with broad international coverage on a surprisingly diverse group of topics. Everett is starting with a substantial group of key images, which will be updated periodically from Mirrorpix.
Mary Evans Picture Library is renowned for its comprehensive collection of great color illustrations, vintage historical photography and engravings. A long established agency, founded over 40 years ago, it features worldwide content from the beginning of recorded time to the recent past. Most of civilization’s key personalities and events are depicted as well as topics of general interest. It has recently added several new collections to its files and its management is focused on greatly expanding its content with compatible imagery.
