Escape Velocity Systems Announces Nutritional Labeling Module for O2 Food ERP
Escape Velocity Systems adds a Nutritional Labeling module to the O2 Food ERP allowing food manufacturers to integrate labeling with the USDA's National Nutrient Database. This module provides accurate FDA compliant data for O2 Food ERP reports.
Boulder, CO, May 06, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Escape Velocity Systems (EVS) based in Boulder, Colorado, today announced the release of the new O2 Nutritional Labeling module. O2’s Nutritional Labeling module completely integrates with the USDA's National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference. This data is the foundation of most food and nutrition databases in the US, used in food policy, research and nutrition monitoring as the US national standard.
The O2 Nutritional Labeling database complies with the requirements for nutrition labeling defined in regulations issued in January 1993 by the FDA and U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). These FDA regulations meet the provisions of the Nutrition Labeling and Education Act of 1990 (NLEA), which, among other things, requires the FDA to make nutrition labeling mandatory for almost all processed foods.
Key features of O2 Nutritional Labeling include:
• Seamless integration with the USDA’s National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference
• Provides accurate, FDA compliant data for standard O2 reports of:
• Nutritional labels
• Ingredients statements
• Allergen declarations
• Nutrient content and health claims
• Monthly nutrient database updates via web service
EVS was formed in 2002 to combine specific industry knowledge related to process manufacturing, distribution and ERP implementations with cutting edge software development. Specialty industries include food and beverage, chemicals, life sciences and metals. The company focus is to create tools that enable mid-market enterprises to achieve their goals, focusing on lean processes and ROI.
