Casey Cares children and their families will now be able to communicate through the web and benefit through another supportive community which will save them precious time and energy.
Baltimore, MD, May 07, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Casey Cares Foundation today announced a partnership with CaringBridge, a nonprofit Web service that connects families and friends when someone is facing a serious medical condition, treatment or in recovery. A CaringBridge Web site provides a place for users to post journal entries and photos, and receive messages of hope and encouragement in a guestbook.
The Casey Cares Foundation provides on-going, uplifting programs with a special touch for families with a critically ill child. Children on treatment for leukemia, brain tumors, cystic fibrosis, blood disorders, lymphoma, sarcoma and other childhood cancers qualify for the programs. Through unique activities, each family enjoys an average of six experiences per year throughout the duration of their child’s illness and even one year beyond. Individually designed for each family, these programs allow them to focus on happy times together rather than the stress, worry and pain of the disease that has upended their lives. “Partnering with CaringBridge adds a beneficial feature to our support system,” said Casey Baynes, Founder of the Casey Cares Foundation.
“Critically ill patients and their caregivers greatly benefit from the ease of communication that CaringBridge provides,” said Judy Trucano, partnership manager, CaringBridge. “Instead of spending time making phone calls and sending e-mails to keep everyone updated, their energy can be focused on the patient who requires healing.”
