They are, however, your typical heterosexual couple – three kids, a house, a dog, a mortgage and live in a small town near Ottawa, the capital city of Canada. It was 2003 when Murison, a closet inventor with a background in engineering, and his wife, Melody, got laid off from their jobs at the Ottawa high tech firm, Nortel. “I have always invented things,” recalls Bruce from We-Vibe headquarters in North Gower, Ont. “I had invented a dozen or so things over the previous 20 years that I would show the kids when commercials came on TV. Getting laid off kind off and then the trip to Australia kind of spurred me on to pursue the dream of creating We-Vibe.”
And invent something he did. It was during a trip back home from New York City that the Murisons first got the idea of designing a vibrator that a woman could wear while making love, with no straps, no wires, and two separate motors that could stimulate the clitoris and the G-Spot at the same time. “Seven hours in the car kind of makes you go a little crazy for things to talk about,” says Murison. “It was literally 30 seconds out of a seven-hour conversation where we got the idea for the We-Vibe.”
