One-man Startup Wins European Web2.0 Startup Competition, Overcomes 160 Startups

The European Web2.0 startup competition, named Startup2.0, was held in Bilbao, Spain. This is its third consecutive year.

Startup2.0 is a competition of European web 2.0 sites whose objectives are to promote and reward the European startups (either created or willing to do so in the future) that work in the field of 2.0 technologies. Previous winners were 5min.com in 2007 and Zilok.com in 2008.

Colnect Collectors Community (colnect.com), available in 35 languages, offers collectibles collectors valuable services that are not found on other sites. Amir Wald is a 29-year old Israeli entrepreneur with a vast experience in the IT industry. Mr. Wald has a bachelor cum laude from the Open University of Israel in Computer Science. After traveling the world as a backpacker for 2.5 years, Amir has decided to launch his startup, Colnect, shortly after returning home.
