Solo Travel Focus of New Blog

New blog offering solo travel tips, advice and stories from bloggers from around the world.

Toronto, Canada, May 15, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Solo travel tips, skills and stories are the focus of a new blog called Solo Traveler. It provides information and resources for those who travel solo on tours and independently. There will also be a special section for those who travel solo for social justice.

According to statistics by the US Travel Association, 23% of all leisure trips were taken solo in 2005. 64% of all business trips were also taken solo. By all anecdotal evidence, this sector is growing. The Solo Traveler Blog is ready to serve this important market. With boomer, Gen X and Gen Y bloggers, there will be posts appropriate to every age group.

“This is a huge market, says Janice Waugh, founder of the blog. “And, given that a large number of solo travelers are doing so because they are single without dependents, this sector just may be worth a second look by the travel industry that has normally penalized soloist with the single supplement.”

Ms. Waugh launched Solo Traveler on April 1, 2009 because the current resources available didn’t meet her needs as a solo traveler. With bloggers from six countries, it promises to be a significant resource for solo travelers.
