Two CINE Awards Given to Backstory Productions

Washington, DC-based Backstory Productions receives two CINE Golden Eagle Awards for videos produced for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Washington, DC, May 09, 2009 --(PR.com)-- DC-based independent producer Backstory Productions received two CINE Golden Eagle Awards last month in the Fall 2008 juried competition.

CINE Golden Eagle Awards were granted to Backstory Productions in the Safety Training and Employee Development category for two segments of Four Goals: The Power of Performance, a series produced for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA); and in the Employee Training category for two segments of the series 2 Minutes, also produced for VA.

The segments covered VA’s involvement in the 2004 San Diego wildfires; VA’s care of brain-injured veterans of the Iraq War; VA’s efforts to prevent suicide among veterans; and VA’s use of mobile pharmacy units to deliver drugs to patients during natural and man-made disasters.

The CINE Golden Eagle Award acknowledges high quality production in 27 content categories. CINE has a remarkable track record for rewarding excellence, particularly among new and emerging filmmakers. Past recipients include Ken Burns, Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard and Martin Scorsese.
