The Lemon Life Offers a Fresh Perspective on Post-University Life

Launch release regarding the lemon life web site.

Toronto, Canada, May 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- New online magazine gives gen Y a voice.

Just in time for a fresh new set of graduates to matriculate from the hallowed halls of higher education comes The Lemon Life (www.thelemonlife.com). Launching in May 2009, this new online magazine aims to do what no other publication, on or offline, has been able to do: create a place for the oft-misunderstood Generation Y to share their trials and triumphs while they navigate their present and plan their future.

Generation Y is seen as the “entitlement” generation, defined by corresponding stereotypes. Reclaiming and redefining the voice of this generation is the primary goal of The Lemon Life and its founders. This is the voice of a community that is still trying to find its place, content in the belief that the answers, though not immediately forthcoming, are out there. They are in no hurry to figure it all out.

“Our original idea was to create a Web site for the un- or underemployed but as we continued to grow and more people got involved, it became clear that our message was more universal than we had originally anticipated,” says Editor-in-Chief, Casey Collins. “Whether employed or not, we as a generation are struggling to find our place and strike a balance. The Lemon Life is a destination to listen, interact and discuss the issues that challenge us and the ideas that make us unique.”

Entirely contributor-based, topics like finding a job, living at home vs. living on your own, and travel are often linked with the unique position this generation finds itself within the world economy.

Harnessing Gen Y’s open embrace of the internet and all of its capabilities allows this publication to remain dynamic and relevant. As a result, The Lemon Life has built a contributor base that spans the globe and a Facebook group that is 600 strong and still growing.

Each monthly issue of The Lemon Life will feature a theme relevant to what is happening at that point in the year. May, for example, is The Graduation Issue, featuring content like:

· What to wear under your grad gown
· Is post-grad education really worth it?
· Should I travel or find a summer job?
· What to do when your boss asks to be your friend on Facebook?
· Profiles of contributors

While theme-related content will be updated monthly, alternative content will be refreshed weekly.

“There is a captive audience for this content and The Lemon Life is the first to provide it honestly, without preaching and pandering,” said Joy Panday, Director of Big Thinking, The Lemon Life. “Lemon Life readers will find very human stories, written by real people who have lived, or are currently living, a Lemon Life. And there’s nothing sour about that.”
