San Angel Mole Named 2009 sofi ™ Silver Finalist by the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade

The sofi Awards recognize excellence in specialty foods and beverages in 33 categories and are a coveted industry honor. “sofi” stands for Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation.
San Angel Mole Cascabel Sauce was one of 111 Silver Finalists selected from 1,433 contenders by a national panel of specialty food experts. Gold Winners will be announced June 29 at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York.
“It’s an honor to receive this recognition for our Cascabel Sauce,” said Tim McCarthy, founder of San Angel Mole Company. “This product is the first in our line of varietal chile sauces and its versatility makes it a customer favorite.” Recipes are available at www.SanAngelMole.com. McCarthy, a former elctro-optics engineer, developed the line of authentic Mexican sauces after spending several years in the kitchens of top Los Angeles restaurants including Patina, Alex and Lucques.
