Laughing Out Loud Trunk Show to Benefit Partners in Health
Boston, MA, May 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Though just kicking off its second season in business, local children’s apparel company Laughing Out Loud Kids is making an effort to give back by holding a trunk show on May 14 to support Partners In Health. Popular Boston children's boutique and “Best of Boston 208-west” Mila Lilu will host a showing of designer Mila Cole's latest fashions this Thursday, and a percentage of all sales from the event will be donated to the worldwide healthcare organization.
"From the start, we wanted to find a way to help others through our own business success," Cole says. Partners In Health, whose mission is to provide a preferential option for the poor in health care, was the perfect fit, she notes, since it is not only based in Boston but works with a sister organization called Socios En Salud to treat communities in Cole's native Peru. "Our company relies on the premium Pima cottons that come from Peru, and through Partners In Health we have found a way to help the community that is helping our brand to thrive."
Thursday's trunk show, which will be held from 5-9pm at Mila Lilu 1199, Walnut St. Newton, MA 02461 will feature looks from Laughing Out Loud's Spring '09 collection for girls and boys 0 to 6 years old. Parents will find whimsical, striped one-pieces for babies as well as fun playwear for older kids—from colorful pants and polos for little men to fanciful dresses for dancers-in-training, such as the popular multi-tiered Flamenco style. According to Cole, "Kids love our soft, comfortable fabrics and swingy silhouettes, and moms are happy to find high-quality apparel that holds up over time."
Laughing Out Loud's contribution to Partners In Health will help support the charity's service in poor communities affected by diseases such as tuberculosis and AIDS, as well as its research and advocacy programs. "We believe Milalulu shoppers will be thrilled to find fantastic children's clothes at top value while also contributing to this wonderful cause," Cole says.
