Simmons & White, Inc. to Provide Civil Engineering Services for the City of West Palm Beach Fire Station No. 8

West Palm Beach, FL, May 15, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Simmons & White, Inc. a comprehensive civil and traffic engineering firm will provide civil engineering services for the City of West Palm Beach Fire Station No. 8 as part of the team led by Stephen Boruff, AIA Architects + Planners, Inc.. The contract for Fire Station No. 8 was awarded to the proposer who was ranked #1 in a competitive Request for Proposal Process.

As civil engineer for the City of West Palm Beach Fire Station No. 8 Design Criteria Package, Simmons & White’s services will include review of preliminary site plan with regard to traffic circulation, drainage, utility service and other engineering issues, preparation of drainage statement for zoning petition/concurrency reservation process, and traffic impact statement, if required. Upon approval of site plan, Simmons & White will prepare on-site paving and drainage, water and wastewater plans, water management calculations including driveway connections, and prepare and submit permit application packages for same. In addition to these services the firm of Simmons & White, Inc. will provide services during construction as required to certify the project. This design criteria package is to be prepared in accordance with Florida Statute 255.252 to comply with the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system, the Green Building Initiative's Green Globes rating system, the Florida Green Building Coalition standards, or a nationally recognized, high-performance green building rating system as approved by the department.
