Simmons & White, Inc. Raises $10,250.00 for Florida Engineering Society Palm Beach County Chapter Scholarship Fund

West Palm Beach, FL, May 15, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Simmons & White’s 10th Annual KDW Derby Fishing Tournament and Fish Fry raised $10,250.00 for the Palm Beach County Chapter of the Florida Engineering Society Scholarship Fund. The Palm Beach County Chapter of the Florida Engineering Society awarded $12,000.00 in scholarships on April 9, 2009 to local high school and college students who have chosen engineering as their major course of study. Florida Engineering Society Scholarships inspire and encourage the pursuit of an education focused on engineering.

A total of 13 Florida Engineering Scholarships were awarded, 5 being awarded to the following high school students; Yimin Chen, Shelly Jin, Alexander Hedlund, Brittany Hicks, Bonnie Yip and the remaining to the following college students; Laura Fenton, Lea Miller, Taylor Reeves, Matthew Young, Augustus Cicala III, Laura Hover, Mark Vanzwieten, and DeAnna Sewell all local Palm Beach County area students.

This annual event has raised over $40,000.00 for the Florida Engineering Society Palm Beach County Chapter Scholarship Fund and continues to grow every year.
